Legal Advice: The Limb Loss Legal Panel

The Limb Loss Legal Panel is a group comprising some of the country’s leading law firms who have a national reputation specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence. Most importantly panel members have great experience working on behalf of amputees.

To help members who need to obtain legal assistance, the Limbless Association is working with five specialist law firms; Digby Brown, Irwin Mitchell, Kester Cunningham John, Leigh Day & Co. and Pannone, who have formed themselves together under the title ‘the Limb Loss Legal Panel’. As Scotland has its own legal system, we have Scotland-based firm, Digby Brown, on the panel to advise on legal issues specific to Scotland.

With renowned levels of expertise, the Limb Loss Legal Panel understand that an accident or injury may affect many areas of an individual’s life, emotionally and socially as well as the more practical aspects. We are committed to ensuring that our clients receive sympathetic and effective legal advice.

The Limb Loss Legal Panel collectively offers a proven track record of attaining successful outcomes coupled with high levels of compensation for amputees. It is vital that anyone who suffers a severe injury is represented by a specialist who can maximise the potential of his or her claim. In some cases it can mean the difference of many thousands of pounds in compensation. This is vital to ensuring that the correct needs of anyone who has suffered an amputation are adequately accounted for.

The Douglas Bader Foundation  (incorporating the Limb Loss Information Centre) has entered into a relationship with the Panel whereby they advertise their services through its various outlets and in return the firms pay to the Foundation an annual, sizeable donation, which is helping to ensure the Association can provide a good quality service to all its members. This arrangement between the  Foundation  and the Panel is operated in accordance with the Solicitors Introduction and Referral Code 1990.

It should be made clear that those needing legal advice are totally at liberty to choose another solicitor to advise in relation to their case and a suitable Solicitor may be identified by contacting the Law Society.
