Founded	The company was founded in the early 1970s. Many of Ossur's key inventors designed products for personal reasons. Their needs and those of other product users remain central to the company’s goal - life without limitations. Ossur funds one of the largest R&D units of its kind. A strict quality control system is operated and Technical Service teams provide expert advice, training and technical assistance.
Team	Today Ossur employs a staff of around 1200 in 13 locations around the world. Headquartered in Iceland, the company has extensive operations in North America, Europe and the Nordic region, complemented by a far-reaching international service network and an Asia-Pacific facility located in Australia.)
